Instruction for students in grades 4-5 will be delivered primarily through the use of iPads and the 区’s Schoology program. 学生们 in Grades K-3 Seesaw and other tools with home computers. This does not mean that students will be on technology for the entire amount of time, but they should have a balance of time on Schoology and work on the assignments given without technology.

学生们 and teachers will follow the respective class schedule students would have in school and plan on having the same breaks, lunch and overall school day they would have if in school.

"电子学习" is school days where teachers offer electronic academic learning experiences via Schoology, Seesaw and Google Learning Management Systems.
When will teachers connect with students about e-learning expectations
Teachers will use the first day of 电子学习 as a time to set clear expectations with students via Schoology, Seesaw with links provided in the Google Doc. Direction will be provided regarding expectations in this e- learning environment, pertaining but not limited to:
How will parents be notified regarding 电子学习 expectations?
该 decision would be communicated through an automated phone call, email, social media and posted to the district website.
Will attendance be taken for a e-learning day?
Yes. Teachers will enter student attendance into Skyward by 3:00 pm daily. 学生们 will need to respond to a teacher prompt specifically for attendance each day before 3.
Can students check in to classes after 3:00 pm?
Yes, but you will be marked absent for that school day. If your child is ill and unable to complete coursework, the parent will submit an absence request via Skyward.
Can students be required to be online at a particular time?
Yes, in grades 4-5. During this time, there should be teacher/class interaction through Schoology, Google Meet, and/or discussion boards.
What if students have extenuating circumstances (e.g. watching siblings, etc.)?
学生们 and families will proactively make alternative plans with teachers based on need.
How long do students have to be in each class?
There is not a required amount of class time expected for students. 该 amount of time students spent on work in the classroom varies daily by student and assignment. 学生们/父母 are required to check into Google Doc daily for information on each subject. Teachers will communicate lesson expectations on a daily basis. Teachers will follow the typical 6 day schedule and time frame. We do not expect students to be on a computer all day. We expect students will spend similar time 电子学习 at home as they do at school. For example: A student might join a small group lesson for math live during their regular math time, complete an assignment or practice, then work on IXL, and complete assigned work.
What flexibility do students have in their daily schedule?
学生们 are required to check in to the Google Doc via Schoology/Seesaw by 8:40 each day. 该 intent is to follow the school schedule as closely as possible.
Are students able to work ahead in their classes?
Yes, as much as the teacher allows.
When will student work be available?
Teachers will have lessons available by 8:00 am each day. 父母 will receive a daily email from their principal with directions on how to connect with lessons for the day.
What is the deadline for work completed on a e-learning day?
该 deadline for work completion will be determined and explicitly communicated by the teacher. Teachers will provide students ample time to complete assignments which may be more time than would normally be provided in class.
How will the in-class workload transfer to the e-learning environment?
学生们 will complete work assigned by each teacher to demonstrate their knowledge of the grade level essential learning targets in content students study following the 6-day cycle. 该 workload should be similar to a typical day in school.
What do students do if they are enrolled in a 4th/5th grade orchestra or 5th grade classroom music, band or vocal music course?
音乐 teachers will clarify expectations with students via the Google Doc on music class or lesson days. This will work the same for each teacher and or service provider that works with your child.
How will students receive their assignments from specialists?
Specialists will post assignments on the grade level Google Doc following the 6-day cycle.
How will students be tested?
Tests should keep pace with instruction. This may be a test in the online environment or this be a test in class upon return to school. Teachers will communicate with students via the Google Doc, Schoology, Seesaw. Please allow students to complete assessments on their own. Some assessments are used, in part, to help teachers know what went well in the learning and what may still need more instruction.
Will typical summative assessments still happen?
该 US Department of Education has relieved all states of their testing this year.

- Classroom Summative Assessments: Teachers will continue to use a combination of current assessments and alternative assessments for students to demonstrate their learning.

How will students be graded?
Teachers will maintain their gradebook to assess student learning that is completed through e-Learning. Teachers may alter assignments or tests due to the 电子学习 environment.
How can parents/students contact teachers?
父母 may contact teachers via email. 学生们 may contact teachers via Seesaw (PreK-3) Schoology Message (4-5) or email.
When will students be able to contact teachers and staff?
Teachers and support staff (counselors, principals, social workers, special education case managers) will be available Monday - Friday according to the district calendar from 7:45-3:45.
When can students expect a response from teachers via email or Schoology or Seesaw?
Students may expect to hear from teachers between the hours of 7:45-3:45. 学生们 may contact teachers outside of those hours, but should expect responses between those times.
What if students contact their teacher and the teacher is not available (e.g. sick)?
该 Google Doc will provide needed information.
What if students are sick? Are parents expected to call the attendance line?
父母 should continue to connect via Skyward Parent Access if your child is ill and unable to participate in e-learning.
How can students contact of students in their class?
Teachers will partner with students to discuss opportunities for staying connected.
How can students contact their Counselor, or Social Worker?
Counselors and social workers are available from 7:45-3:45. 父母/学生们 should initially contact them via email. Follow-up meetings will be determined together that could include a Google Meet as a method for face to face interaction.
How can students contact their 特殊教育 case manager?
Special education teachers will be available to work with students, attend IEP meetings and evaluation meetings following their typical schedule between the hours of 7:45-3:45. Teachers will reach out to students and families on their caseload to communicate. 该 plan is to continue instruction as normal.
